What a Festival! Horsepower Crew was proud to be the First to bring South Australias Motoring Enthusiast Community to “The Bend” for a Show & Shine + Trade Show + Food & Family Fun Festival in the opening month of the park, there was around 3,000 enthusiasts that rocked up and rocked the day that we called TrackFest! With massive thanks to our mates at CI Performance Parts SA Time Attack for inviting us to enjoy their all day racing with classes from Street Registered to PRO, there was no shortage of Horsepower to experience on display or on the new $110 Million dollar Racing Track at The Bend Motorsport Park!
So it all started 3 months before with the opening of HorsepowerCrew.com and our first online Entry process, whilst smooth for most, some had a bit of difficulty; but either way, we were determined to ensure that we didn’t miss every single one, and we offered a incredible chance for every early bird entrant to have a chance to win a Parade Lap, HUGE thanks to CI Performance Parts SA Time Attack for arranging this absolutely amazing experience! It was 154 entrants that had a chance, and we drew 50 to go on the laps Live on Facebook, so everyone had a approx 1 in 3 chance, and they were drawn out of a hat at Random, as there was no fairer way!
From there; every entrant got a welcome pack in the mail; including letter, Wristbands, Vehicle ID Stickers & our Full 260+ Grid map of every single car, bike and Automotive Trader, split almost 50/50 as a Import Vs Muscle feel, within that; every area had a “Street Name” to fit the theme of that neighbourhood, so for example, there was “Peter Brock Boulevard”, “Skaife Street” & Rick Kelly Road” where there were Holdens, Henry Ford Way where there was Fords, Route 66 & Chev Drive in the American area-and that was Just for Muscle! Then we had ones Like “Nismo Lane”, “Fuji Speedway” & “JDM Vs EURO” in Import, it was a pretty cool experience that we can only thank our community and our Team for coming up with the ideas!
It was a Massive effort to measure and mark out those 260 6×3 & 7×4 boxes onto The Bend’s brand new Paddock area; of which we occupied over 414Meters long by 38 meters wide! Which is pretty much 60% of what you see here!
If you haven’t come across us before, Horsepower Crew is a Community Organisation which has a “Continuous Misssion” to be a Positive impact on South Australia’s Motoring Enthusiast Community, Small Business and Charitable Causes, so without being able to bring these three together in a Festival environment, the Bitumen area above would be just be a car park for Trailers, but we would like to thank these Car clubs & Facebook Groups for joining us and making First Show & Shine History at the Bend!
